So, I felt that it’s been a long time since I have done a video or posted an update about the Flat-Spot and so much has happen. Over the past few months the new website has done really well when I have content. The forum is pushing 8K members that is almost 3K new members in the last year. Behavior has been limited to only a few scraped knee’s and some delightful people posting porn. Which for a group this size I think is pretty damn good. Best of all I am getting letters during the week from new members thanking me for creating a place where they feel safe to be new at something. Which for me only makes me want to push harder and grow this community into something more people can enjoy. I have you to thank for that.
So what’s next?
I have made some massive changes to my life in an effort to expand and focus on building the Flat-Spot into something more than just a chat forum. Starting next month, I’m moving everything out of California and relocating to my new 5-acre ranch in Prescott AZ. In doing this I’m cutting my overhead 40% and giving myself the room I need to finally focus on building the Flat-Spot into a vintage Ford Parts supplier, information hub, and membership based club that I have always wanted it to be. What does that mean to you? Members of the Flat-Spot will enjoy a wide range of new discounts on all offered Flathead products we plan to supply. Offering the group, a membership based parts club with rotating deals, sales, and special only paid members will be able to enjoy.
So maybe you’re asking, “Why Arizona?”
So, I was born and raised in Orange County California and I am a diehard hot rod guy looking to build a business from the ground up. After 6 months of talking to locals and other business owners about the climate in Arizona I kept getting the same response. Much like the big boom in Texas, Arizona is experiencing a flood of new home owners and with it, members of California’s classic car community. Like me they are fed up with high gas prices, overpriced insurance, over population, and living costs that are now topping numbers only before seen in New York. Arizona is cheaper, less laws and regulations, the price of living allows for more house for your money and more money for your hobbies. Best of all your close enough to return to California for the big shows.
So, as I get settled I would like to reach out to our members and ask them about what they would like out of the Flat-Spot. Because of my location, I will be able to get to TX, NV, and CA. so I do hope to start representing the group at more shows. Our focus will be less on Flat-Spot Gear and more on Flathead Products and Membership. I’m working with some people now to do more How to Videos, and so much more. Thank you for your support of this group and know it’s because of you that the Flat-Spot is growing. Please feel free to post your comments or questions below.
